Why I want to meet littlehummingbird
She lives in my town.
Sports Night, Desperate Housewives, Transamerica, Raising Helen, A Slight Case of Murder…
Her sister works in my (very small) school district, and I am afraid if I meet her (the sister) I will freak out.
Because he is a part of the most rockin’ web development group in America!
I want to meet Lady Strathconn because not only does she rock her ‘43things’ short, she has a goal list that is downright envious.
Moving is traumatic.
We were talking at school yesterday about how many “homes” we had had, not including dorms. I had the fewest with 4. And all 4 are in the same town. And 3 of the 4 are within a 1 mile of each other along the same road (The Avenue). When I was born my parents owned an apartment house within sight of The Avenue, when I was 3 they bought a house 3 blocks into a neighborhood off the avenue (they still live there), and when I came back from college I got an apartment on The Avenue, just a mile from that person apartment house.
And then I got married and we bought a house. On the “other side” of town! Now granted, it is within a mile of all my other homes, but still. It is a different garbage day, a different elementary school, and a different side of the avenue.
It was awful packing up the apartment that had been my home for 2 years and moving to a place I had never been, with someone I would spend the rest of my life with. I cried…a lot… Much to the annoyance of my father and husband-to-be. Now I can’t imagine moving (although I want my parents’ home), this is my home. We are putting our mark on it after another family lived in it for over 60 years. I know we won’t live in it that long, but it will always be our first home.
